The Driehaus Foundation is pleased to announce the promotion of Nick Burt to Senior Program Officer.

Nick joined the Foundation in 2015 as Grants Manager and since 2021 his work has focused on the Investigative Journalism for Government Accountability program. As Senior Program Officer, Nick will continue to develop program strategy, manage ongoing grantee relationships, and identify new funding opportunities.

Executive Director Anne Lazar noted, “Nick manages the Foundation’s journalism program thoughtfully and strategically. He effectively identifies and addresses challenges and opportunities within the sector and demonstrates dynamic leadership with both internal and external partners. His excellent management of the journalism program has been instrumental in its considerable expansion over the past several years.”

Nick Burt shared, “It’s a privilege to work alongside our investigative journalism grantees, who are collectively making Chicago one of the most interesting places anywhere for nonprofit news. They are engaging the public around urgent issues, driving reform, and making our news more inclusive and democratic. I am proud of all we get to do to support this work—at a time when local news is imperiled but as necessary as ever.”

Congratulations, Nick!
